Superchips unveiled plans to take title sponsorship of Krawlin’ Dirty’s #22 Pro-Mod buggy, piloted by driver Aaron Sykes. Team Superchips will be competing in several impressive events throughout the 2012 season including the W.E. Rock and Cal/Neva Extreme series. The Superchips buggy has a Campbell Enterprises chassis with a Cobalt 2.0L turbo ecotec engine. The all-tube chassis includes fiberglass and polycarbonate panels, 3 link suspension with 16" travel shocks, front and rear locking differentials, and a special competition compound “sticky” tire. This year, the Team Superchips rig will compete in the Pro Modified class which consists of a two seat, front engine buggy with 37" tires.
Word of this sponsorship came just as King of the Hammers kicked off in Johnson Valley, CA. Joe Dussol, Superchips Marketing Director commented “The past couple years we have really placed an emphasis on targeting the enthusiasts. We’re sponsoring a stock class LJ in this year’s King of the Hammers event with Four Corners 4x4 and the opportunity to extend our presence, with Aaron and his rig, in this sport was exciting.” Dussol went on to say “Aaron knows the Superchips brand, he is familiar with our target market, and he is your classic ‘do it yourself’ kind of a guy. We also think it will be great for people to see our VIVID in his rig, as it is compatible with the engine Aaron runs on his buggy!” We’re excited to follow Team Superchips this year and we’re proud to support a sport that aligns with our brand and continues to grow.”
Aaron Sykes, driver of the Team Superchips rig, said “Obviously I’m thrilled to have Superchips on board for 2012. In addition to the support they will provide us to maintain the rig and get from place to place, I’m excited to partner with a brand that I know and trust.” Sykes continued “Superchips has built a great reputation in the off road industry. I hope to be able to build on their standing through hard work and hopefully some great results at our events this year.”
