On Saturday June 15, 2013, the Tri-City Jeep Club in conjunction with Wellington Motors in Guelph hosted their 8th annual Show and Shine, one of the largest events of its kind in Ontario. With over 60 off-road vehicles of all makes and models registered, and many more attending as spectators, this was one of our most successful events yet. Guests enjoyed activities such as the RTI ramp and Teeter Totter supplied by JeepKings, a charity BBQ and raffle, and a variety of vendors. The children’s area complete with face painting, balloons, petting zoo, RC cars and a Jeep to crawl on, was a big hit with the younger crowd. As it is every year, the most popular event of the day was the Car Crush. The crowd started gathering well before the event and cheered on their favourite trucks and drivers. Several drivers put on a great show, but the highlight of the event was the ladies from The Children’s Wish Foundation submitting to peer pressure to take a ride over the cars. What a way to experience your first ride in a Jeep.
At the end of the day it’s all about charity. With the help of our generous sponsors, and the support and generosity of those in attendance, $2,200 was raised for The Children’s Wish Foundation of Kitchener-Waterloo.
A big thank you to all our volunteers, our vendors, our sponsors, and especially to our guests who participated to make the 2013 event one of our best shows ever. Don’t miss this year’s event, being held on Saturday June 14th, at Wellington Motors in Guelph, sponsored by 4 Wheel Parts Canada. Registration opens at 10:00. With new vendors and events being added, it promises to be a fun day for the family.
