On Saturday June 16, 2012, Tri-City Jeep Club in conjunction with Wellington Motors in Guelph hosted their 7th annual Show and Shine. Year after year this event keeps getting bigger and 2012 was no exception with over 65 vehicles registered and the largest crowd to date. Vehicles in attendance covered the whole gamut of 4WD vehicles. Extreme trail rigs were parked beside stock out-of-the-showroom JK’s. Trail scars were in contrast with custom paint jobs. While Jeeps were by far the most common, Fords, Chevys and some hard-to-distinguish vehicle types were also present. Events included an RTI ramp, a charity BBQ and raffle, and a variety of vendors. The children’s area complete with face painting, balloons, petting zoo and a Jeep to crawl on. But by far the most popular event of the day was the Car Crush with several drivers putting on a show. The crowd started gathering well before the event and cheered on their favourite trucks and drivers.
At the end of the day it’s all about charity. With the help of our generous sponsors, and the support and generosity of those in attendance, $2488 was raised for The Children’s Wish Foundation of Kitchener-Waterloo.
A big thank you to all our volunteers, our sponsors, and especially to our guests who participated to make 2012 the best show ever. This year’s event is being held on Saturday June 15th at Wellington Motors in Guelph. Registration opens at 10:00. With new vendors and events being added, it promises to be bigger and better.
