There is some debate about whether or not you should cover your RV through the winter. The naysayers have probably used a poor fitting poly tarp. There are several good reasons to cover your RV this winter with a good quality, proper fitting cover.
Let’s start with moisture – the bane of every RV. Without a cover, moisture can pool in dimples and depressions, stagnate among fallen leaves and pine needles, growing mould and mildew on your roof – especially damaging to seals and caulking. Those rotting leaves and needles can also cause black streaks on the roof and down the side of your RV, which means a big clean up job in the spring.
And then there’s sun damage. Those caulking and seal degrading UV rays that also prematurely break down your tires. The UV rays will also degrade the paint finish on the outside, prematurely aging the look of your RV.
Even in winter, the suns rays can heat the outside and inside of your RV, raising the temperature which can then subsequently drop below freezing at night. This freeze/thaw cycle can also wear out your seals. A cover reflects a good portion of the suns energy, moderating the temperature of your RV through out the off-season.
Using a good quality cover can pay for itself in a higher resale value, fewer tire purchases, and lower maintenance costs.
I recommend using the ADCO All Climate Plus Wind Designer Series RV cover. This cover is the top of the line model made by ADCO, and it does not disappoint. Made out of a durable and breathable Tyvek material, it will stand up to high winds while allowing moisture to escape your RV.
A triple zipper entry allows easy access to the inside your RV. Anti-billowing vents allow high winds to escape from being caught underneath your cover and there are cinching straps all along the perimeter of the RV, as well as weighted tie downs underneath to create a nice snug fit.
You will also receive a free set of four tire covers and a three-year manufacturer’s warranty through ADCO.
With a large variety of sizes for each style of RV, it is easy to protect your investment this winter season with the ADCO All Climate Plus Wind RV cover.
