The Husky matts are normally rolled up into the box when they arrive. Setting them in the sun to soften up helps with installation.

The rear mats are one piece and go over the transmission hump as well for added coverage.

Bushwacker is more readily known for their near indestructible fender flares. We expect their door sill guards will be on par with the rest of the products they make.

Be sure to wipe the mounting surface down and remove any wax or grease. The sill protectors come with the tape applied to them already. We pulled a small amount back before setting the pieces in place and pulling the tape backing off. Resist the urge to pull the backing off and drop the protector down in place in one shot.

Maybe it’s just “us”, but does it feel like winter is perpetually coming? It just seems like all we do is prepare ourselves for the wrath of the cold that is bestowed on us every fall, and finally leaves at the end of spring only giving a minuscule window of summer fun and prep time before the next chilly grasp hits. For us, the formula is simple; winter + truck = mess. Toss kids into the equation and the mess goes up exponentially. Time to Canadianize our truck interior.
Fluffy carpeted floor mats with custom embroidery and colour matched stitching have no place in a rig that’s actually used, and one size fits all floor mats have yet to fit the interior of any vehicle we have owned without going “Edward Scissorhands” on them. We gave up and ordered a set of fresh Husky rubber mats for the front and back of our 2016 Ram 3500 work truck in attempt to keep the interior somewhat hospitable.
The deep contours in the Husky’s help to keep any outside slop from making the inside of our truck smelling like a wet dog and any grime can be tossed out or blasted off at the carwash. We like that the holding hooks don’t go all the way through the matts like others, and allow the sludgy mess to seep into the carpets. For the driver’s side under your heel, the rubber pad is reinforced for longevity and comfort as well.
From Bushwacker, we picked up a set of door sill guards to protect the painted door sills of our rig. We really don’t know why this isn’t a factory option on these trucks as it seems that this is a major abuse area with the ingress and egress of people, tools, and garb. They simply stick on with double sided tape at each door opening and ensure that the paint is never worn down to bare metal and allowed to rust. They also provide protection on the outside of the doors from debris coming off of the tires.
It may seem funny that most base model trucks come with rubber floor mats and other protective equipment as standard equipment, and here we are with an upscale rig swapping out the fancy carpets to put a water proof interior back in. The pieces we installed today provide long lasting protection to our investment so that we may be able to keep our truck for years to come. Sometimes taking a step back is actually stepping forward.
