BC Fishing Derbies coming up: Aug. 19-22

We have three BC fishing derbies coming up this weekend, August 19, featuring huge cash prizes and lots of excitement.

  • Nootka Marine Adventures will be holding its 1st annual 4-day Tuna Derby, August 19-22, in the waters off  Nootka Sound and Esperanza Inlet. As with all of their derbies the goal is to raise funds for salmon enhancement and habitat restoration projects within the Nootka Sound watershed. Click here for event details.
  • The Vancouver Chinook Classic, August 20 & 21, is the premier 2-day catch and release salmon fishing event hosted annually at the new Pier 73 Marina & Yacht Club at the Pacific Gateway Hotel. The event awards the largest cash prize of any fishing derby in Vancouver! Click here for event details.
  • The Alpine Group's 2016 Juan de Fuca Fishing Tournament takes place August 20 & 21 from Pedder Bay RV Resort and Marina. This is Vancouver Island's premier fishing derby with a huge top cash prize for the largest salmon. Click here for event details.
