The 2013 Kelowna Winter Fishing Derby will be held Sunday, December 15, 2013 on Okanagan Lake. This is a catch and release derby with cash prizes given for the longest Rainbow Trout caught. And it's a lot of cash! 1st Prize - $2000; 2nd Prize - $1000; and 3rd Prize - $500. There will also be five random $100 prizes given away throughout the day.
Details of the Derby
The Derby is catch and release and open to all ages. We are looking for the longest Rainbow Trout in Okanagan Lake.
We are encouraging catch and release pratices and will be declaring the winner(s) based on length of the fish only. The prize will be awarded to the entrant who catches the longest Rainbow Trout. The prizes will be handed out at The Trainstation Pub, Sunday, December 8 at 5:30 pm.
Registration will be at The Trainstation Pub (1177 Ellis St. Kelowna - Across from Prospera Place Arena) on Thursday, December 5 from 3 - 7 pm. Tickets are $50 plus GST. Every participant MUST have a ticket purchased and be registered.
Feel free to launch your boat anywhere you like and you are permitted to fish the entire Okanagan Lake.
This inaugural Derby is being put on by the BC Sport Fishing Guide (www.suncruisermedia.com) and Rodney's Reel Outdoors (www.kelownafishing.com).
The Derby is fully insured and if for some unforseen reason the Derby needs to be cancelled or re-scheduled, every participant will be notified in writing and the full entry fee will be reimbursed.
