Easy access to downtown Vancouver or even new destinations is another benefit at Mosquito Creek.

This full-service marina in North Vancouver is ready to meet your needs with its series of amenities, full-service boat yard and close proximity to many attractions.
Big city marinas have many advantages for transient and local boaters. They commonly offer a wide range of services, are well-maintained, provide an added level of security and most have full-service boat yards in the event your vessel needs parts or repairs. Most of all, city experiences are almost always unique with the many attractions, dining options, and access to retail districts.
“It's all about being in a great location and providing all the services that boater’s need,” says Doug Conyers, manager of Mosquito Creek Marina, located in North Vancouver, BC. “We are located right across Vancouver Harbour from downtown so if you are in the middle of a trip, you can stop here to have your boat serviced or address any issues, get fuel or just enjoy the area as the city’s TransLink SeaBus water shuttle service can take you downtown within a few minutes. We are very convenient in that regard.”
Owned and operated by the Squamish Nation Marine Group, Mosquito Creek can accommodate commercial and recreational boats up to 170 feet and features a series of amenities to make your stay as convenient as possible. For instance, mooring slips are always available (although advance booking is recommended) and the secure key gate entrances and security-patrolled slips keeps your vessel and belongings safe. Each slip too, whether you’re transient or long term, has 30- and 50-amp service, water, portable holding tank pumps, dock boxes, even cable TV. The expansive, easy accessible fuel dock serves ethanol gas and diesel, while new shower/laundry facilities and a ship’s store are also featured.
What’s more convenient – especially if you're on the go – is the fully-serviced boat yard on the marina grounds. Various ABYC master-certified tenants offer a range of repair and part services (with experienced staff) to include welding, fabrication and machining; electronics; top yacht refits; as well as certified engine repair for Cummins, MerCruiser, Volvo Penta, Northern Light, and Yanmar Marine. More specific tasks such as boat rigging, fuel and oil polishing, detailing, restoration services, canvas fitting, to name a few, can be done to exact specifications as well. The marina also has a 50-ton travel lift to transport vessels for services and dry storage.
“We get a fair number of transient boaters who come here for service and repair,” says Conyers. “We have a core group of skilled-trades people that are employed by the tenants that we have onsite. A lot of boaters lately are having their hulls powered-washed or get their props checked. While the marina can accommodate 500-plus vessels, the boat yard itself can hold up to 30 vessels at one time.”
Regardless if you require boat services, the marina is great place to unwind, relax or enjoy the immediate area. Centrally located along Esplanade Avenue, you’re close to a string of causal and fine dining restaurants, bistros, coffee shops, hotels, banks, retail outlets and more. The popular Lonsdale Quay Market is within a 10-miunte walk from the marina where you can buy fresh produce or meats and even closer is the expansive Waterfront Park, offering great views of downtown Vancouver.
If you want a taste of the big city vibe, the City SeaBus, a passenger-only ferry connects downtown Vancouver with the North Shore. Each ferry can seat up to 400 passengers at a time, and departs every 15 minutes during the day.
A popular feature introduced at Mosquito Creek in recent years is the float home community by The Spirit Trail Ocean Home development. Known to be the first residences of its kind in Canada, the newly developed residential community is devised as a viable option to live right on the water. The Float home communities consist of state-of-the-art, chic, multi-story dwellings, offering expansive views of the marina, Vancouver Harbour and beyond. All home feature gas furnaces, stainless steel star energy appliances, spacious decks, and are available with designated space for your vessel. Various phases are currently in the works.
