With a back drop of snow-capped mountains along the shores of Little Shuswap Lake in Chase, B.C., Quaaout Lodge & Spa is where you can enjoy golfing, relax at the spa, or explore Little Shuswap Lake boating, fishing, and a series of on-water activities.
What makes The Quaaout Lodge and Spa truly distinctive is its heritage of the Secwepemc First Nations, which is commemorated through its architecture, upscale dining, First Nation’s interpretive areas and cultural hiking tours. Simply put, a visit here means taking in indigenous history and the several amenities the resort has to offer.
“One of the most unique factors are the indigenous cultural components with the ability to enjoy tours from a traditional sense, which can’t be replicated outside of the Shuswap region,” says Jesse Ziercke General Manager at Quaaout Lodge & Spa. “Another unique factor is we have direct lake access with 548 metres (1,800 feet) of lakefront, exclusively for guest use.”
If you’re coming with a boat in tow, there are many boat launches nearby, while the resort’s seasonal dock provides access to and from the water. If you’re an angler, you’re in luck. The fishing – especially the active trout - is second to none. Anchoring for the day, visiting local beaches, and evening cruises are also enjoyed.
Play Your Game at the Talking Rock Golf Course
The Talking Rock Golf Course is located right on the grounds and consists of a scenic 18-hole track that’s ideal for players of all levels. A pro shop plus food and beverage kiosks provide added convenience during the duration of your game.
“The golfing is very popular,” says Ziercke. “It’s a beautiful course and as there are no residences along any of the holes, players will feel like they are the only foursome out there. We now offer golf camps, lessons, and arguably the longest driving range.”
If you want to mix up your fun, inquire about the series of day-activity packages, which includes the services of Salmon Arm-based Buck Tail Adventures, which offers guided fishing in the morning, then golfing in the afternoon. Yet, regardless of your interests, guest service agents are available to help you discover many activities and events in the area.
Relax at the Le7ke Spa
Reintroduced in 2016, the Le7ke Spa is Inspired by First Nations’ design and décor traditions with a selection of beauty treatments and relaxation rituals. Some highlights include an infrared sauna, Vichy shower room, plus pool and hot tub access. More specialty services include thermal body wrap treatments, aromatherapy massages and hot stone massages, to name a few. In addition, customized individual and group spa packages are available, and all technicians are certified practitioners.
“The spa is also very popular,” says Ziercke. “We are an event destination with wedding packages and conference space, and the spas are all enjoyed at those times. In fact, we are working on refining these packages to ensure more all-inclusive experiences.”
Dine with a View
Dining is an integral part of The Quaaout Lodge & Spa. Conventional pub fare can be enjoyed in its lounge or on the waterfront patio while upscale dining can be savoured at Jack Sam’s Restaurant and Lounge.
“We offer upscale dining with an indigenous influence to include wild game unique to the area and contemporary entrees,” says Ziercke. “The dining is all about the environment and providing the ambience, comfort and service. To top it off, great views can be admired during meals to make the experience even more enjoyable.”
The Quaaout Lodge & Spa, a year-round destination, is constantly moving forward with new amenities, concepts and services. While dining options are just one aspect that evolves, expect new cultural activities, an enhanced natural beach front plus additional options for its all-inclusive event and guest packages.
