Boaters should be aware that there are several weather stations out of commission along British Columbia’s Coast. Stations at Fanny Island, Sentry Shoals, Sandhead and Saturna Island are currently down - but there may be more up the coast. The weather stations are strategically placed to provide important information for the safety of boaters.
“There may be more up the coast. One of the people we talked to actually said that there were many station out all across Canada so that is totally unacceptable” said Gary Russell, a member of the Canoe Cove Association.
Many of these stations have been out for months creating an unsafe situation for boaters.
