Sara Anghel, who heads up Canada’s branch of the National Marine Manufacturers Association, was appointed co-chairwoman of the National Recreational Boating Advisory Council, a Transport Canada stakeholder advisory committee.
“Your knowledge and expertise on matters related to recreational boating continues to play an important role in moving forward with the future direction of the Office of Boating Safety,” director general Tim Meisner said during the recent announcement, according to an NMMA Canada newsletter.
The council’s role is to provide advice to Transport Canada on issues and trends pertaining to all areas of the recreational boating community, including enforcement and security issues and related regulatory initiatives in support of boating safety.
It also seeks to provide assistance to Transport Canada on strategic planning for the Office of Boating Safety and to provide support in the communication of safety messages to the boating public.
