Malibu Boats introduces the new 2017 Wakesetter 21 VLX.
The builder said the 21 VLX comes equipped with Malibu innovations that include Surf Gate. The boat, which seats 13, has an MSRP of $79,995 and comes with standard features and a Malibu trailer, bimini top and cover.
The company said the standard Monsoon 6.2-liter engine provides 410 foot-pounds of torque.
“Less than nine months after introducing our ultra-premium M235, we are introducing the best-performing 21-foot boat on the market at a price point no one else can match, when comparably equipped,” Malibu CEO Jack Springer said in a statement.
“We believe the 21 VLX will appeal to the first-time towboat buyer looking to experience the thrills of our sport or a Malibu owner who’s been wanting to upgrade from one of our older Sunsetter or Ride series models and didn’t know how affordable true Malibu style, performance and luxury could be.”
The boat comes equipped with the Malibu exclusive Integrated Surf Platform, Quad Hard Tank Ballast system, Power Wedge II hydrofoil and the Surf Gate with Surf Band. Also included is the all-new G3.5 tower and it all comes standard, along with the Malibu dual-screen digital Command Center.
