Volvo Penta
With another step forward for easier boat ownership, Volva Penta introduces Active Corrosion Protection (ACP).
The system is designed to protect the boat drive from corrosion in the water, with Its development motivated by customers wanting an easy alternative to the traditional way of preventing corrosion. Previously, corrosion was fought with the installation of ‘sacrificial anodes’ - blocks made of metal such as magnesium, aluminum or zinc. These are attached to the hull or drive to prevent components from corroding, but are consumed over time and need to be replaced annually.
ACP is already available for Volvo Penta’s Inboard Performance System (IPS) drives and is now expanding to deliver constant protection to both Volvo Penta diesel and gasoline sterndrives.
