Boats are an expensive investment, and insurance statistics show that not many people protect these valuable processions. Many boat thefts happen while on trailers - and out of those thefts only a small percentage were protected by some kind of lock. In 2018, insurance statistics regarding boats showed a startling realization: only one stolen boat in 10 is ever recovered, 73 percent are stolen while on their trailers and just 15 percent were protected by a lock of some type.
