Don’t let the ‘Journey’ classification fool you. It more aptly deserves the KOA ‘Holiday’ designation with its gorgeous swimming pool and well-kept, park-like landscaping.
Tucked along the scenic Sacramento River, Red Bluff KOA Journey offers RVers a peaceful retreat with relaxing riverfront views and easy access to Northern California’s great outdoors. Whether you are passing through or planning a longer stay, this park provides everything you need for a comfortable and memorable camping experience.
Many of the campsites at Red Bluff KOA Journey feature beautiful views of the river or tranquil fountains. Tent campers can enjoy riverfront sites complete with mulch wood chip pads, a shade pergola, and a picnic table—perfect for relaxing by the water. We were quite envious when we discovered the location next to the river, but the temptation to sleep in a tent has long passed.

All leveled on our spacious concrete pad.
For RV travelers, the campground offers a variety of big-rig friendly, paved sites, including:
- Riverfront Back-In Sites with full hookups (50/30/20 amps)
- Back-In Sites with fountain views and full hookups
- Pull-Thru Sites with grassy areas and full hookups
- Buddy Sites designed for groups camping together
Our paved site was spacious enough for our 55’ total length of towed and connected coach. Apparently the maximum total length is 85’. There is propane available (for a fee), handy if you’re getting low from a long boondocking journey. We found the WiFi decent but did fallback on our data plan for streaming content.

An inviting place to gather by the pool. This is one of two firepits to gather your group or make new friends.

We passed through in the first week of April on our way home. There were plenty of available sites and a predominance of Class A coaches.

One of the most inviting resort clubhouses we’ve enjoyed, with its vaulted ceiling and full height stone fireplace.

Although sparse, there are shade trees throughout. This one allowing a view to setting sun.

This was the best place to view the sunset with the quiet Sacramento River flowing past.
RVers will find plenty to enjoy during their stay, thanks to a wide range of amenities:
- A resort-style swimming pool and hot tub
- A stylish poolside clubhouse
- Basketball half court and bocce
- Fire ring rentals and a community fire pit by the pool
- Two KampK9® off-leash dog parks for furry companions
There is also access to a riverfront nature walk from inside the park. Ours was a single overnight stay so we didn’t have the opportunity to see the whole trail, but we did appreciate the park access and the soothing sounds of the river.
The KOA General Store is open daily and stocked with camping essentials, groceries, RV supplies, and fun souvenirs to remember the trip.
