Snowmobiling at Sunshine Valley
Sunshine Valley RV Resort & Cabins
Located just 15 minutes from Hope on Hwy 3, this beautiful natural valley surrounded by the snow-capped Cascade Mountains offers a wealth of recreational activities for all. Just below the mountains is the Sunshine Valley RV Resort & Cabins which is open year-round for camping. There are 10 fully stocked cabins with wood burning fireplaces and 25 winterized RV sites with 50-amp service. For lower mainlanders looking for a close by location to play in the snow there is not a better venue. You can park you sled at your door and get up and go.
The area received over 80 cms of snow this past week and there are numerous trails and snowmobilers could not be happier. Local snowmobile rider Aaron Harris, went sledding recently and was raving “the snow is fresh, and the trails are in great shape. It was a lot of fun to finally get on the sled and check out the trails.”
In addition to the snowmobile trails, there are significant opportunities to go snowshoeing with unlimited access to beautiful meadows and hiking trails. Sunshine Valley RV Resort has snowshoes for rent or you may bring your own. Nearby waterways that allow for summertime lazing and boating double as an outdoor winter ice skating location.
Joanne Tayler, Sunshine Valley RV Resort Manager comments “We know that while many people in the Lower Mainland would rather not have snow in their yards, they do enjoy coming out and playing in it. With brand new snowshoes for rent, Sunshine Valley is just the right drive to get to the snow,” and she adds “After playing in the snow you can go for a hot tub.”
The RV Resort’s facilities and amenities include an indoor heated pool and two indoor hot tubs; showers, a laundromat, games room, a fitness center, fire pits and a beautiful recreation hall with a massive wood burning fireplace. In addition, there is a fully stocked general store with liquor sales.
While you can always find lots to do in the Sunshine Valley, the RV Resort is also only 30 minutes from Manning Park Resort which is now fully opened with alpine and Nordic skiing, boarding and tubing.
