Welcome to the 8th annual Sidney Anglers Association Salmon Derby. $30,000 in cash and merchandise prizes to be won!
TICKETS:
- Only 250 entry tickets are available
- Rod Holders: $150 per ticket (includes dinner on Friday & Saturday)
- Dinner Only: Friday ($15) & Saturday ($25) can be purchased until Monday, April 30th through Paypal by clicking the appropriate "admit one" icon. Please Note: Extra dinner tickets bought at the door will be sold on a cash only basis - Friday $20 & Saturday $30.
Tickets can be purchased online or at one of the following locations: Home Hardware in Sidney, Island Outfitters or Trotac Marine in Victoria, or Alpine Marine in Westshore.
All Salmon derby anglers (“Contestants”) will be issued a sticker for each rod that must be affixed to the side window of boat and must be visible to Derby Officials.

PRIZES:
Cash prizes will be awarded to contestants who catch and register the three heaviest eligible salmon as follows:
- 1st Place: $10,000
- 2nd Place: Suzuki DF9.9, EFI, high thrust, power tilt
- 3rd Place: Prize: To Be Determined
- $500 value prize for the largest salmon caught by a female (sponsored by Irene Dunic)
- Hidden Weight Merchandise Prizes
- The heaviest 17 fish (after the top three prize fish) are guaranteed an assigned prize at the Saturday night banquet
- Contestants are only permitted to win one cash prize, but are eligible for all merchandise prizes.
One major change for this year is the weigh-in station has been moved from Port Sidney Marina to the gas dock at North Saanich Marina.
Over the past 7 years that the SAA has been hosting this event, the derby has raised close to $140,000, all of which has been committed to salmon enhancement and restoration projects on southern Vancouver Island.
