As the dark mud covers your body you can feel your cares drawn away as an overwhelming sense of relaxation melts into your very core.
Soap Lake has been a destination for ‘camping’ for thousands of years. Not because of the 300+ days of sunshine, although that’s extremely welcome to sun-starved RV’ers, but for the purported benefits of its healing waters - just one more great reason to enjoy a stay at Smokiam RV Resort. Smokiam is the Native American word for ‘healing waters’, which is why these early ‘campers’ originally came to the lake. The mineral rich waters (one of the highest in North America) is still believed by many to treat a variety of ailments.
Like a safe harbour on the north shore of Soap Lake, this family run resort is the envy of eastern Washington RV resorts. 87 shaded sites are all within steps of the 300 m (900 ft) beach and offer a variety of pull-in, back-in and pull–thru options. In addition to being pet friendly, each site offers Wi-Fi, either 30 or 50-amp service, a firepit and picnic table.
Venturing away from your site you’ll find a large swimming pool, revitalizing hot tub, sauna, fitness centre and a wonderfully equipped recreation clubhouse. Stroll down to the beach to swim or rent one of the paddleboards, canoes or kayaks.
Guests without an RV or those looking for a change, can stay in one of the new cabins or teepees. The convenience store and coffee shop make it easy to stock up on the essentials including wine and beer.
Unsatisfied to rest on their laurels, the park is adding an adult’s only hot tub, off leash dog run, splash pad waterpark for kids and additional renovations to the clubhouses.
Eastern Washington has more than a vacations-worth of attractions and activities including the Grand Coulee Dam, Ginkgo Petrified Forest State Park, Lake Lenore Caves, the Gorge Amphitheater and many outdoor adventures including ATVing, hiking and nature watching.
Come to eastern Washington for a relaxing spa-like RV vacation sandwiched between days of outdoor adventure.
