Las Vegas is known for jackpots - big wins, big plays, and all of those glittering prizes. But the biggest win for homebuyers isn’t in Vegas; it ’ s 100 km (60 mi) west in the community of Pahrump, NV.
Whether you are looking for a comfortable and tight-knit community, a more economically friendly environment, or just a place to store your toys like RVs, ATVs, and luxury cars, Pahrump is the ideal place for you. Pahrump is the perfect blend of exciting attractions, friendly people, and that small town pace that makes it really feel like home. It’s all of the fun, and none of the stress.
Pahrump has fantastic medical care, from well-known and widely respected doctors to a fantastic hospital and an upcoming VA clinic. The utility costs are a fraction of what they are in Las Vegas. If you are on an acre of land you will be serviced by a well and septic, of which the only cost is the electricity to the well. If you are on a ½-acre lot, it is serviced by the utility company for either water or sewer, but not both. The utility company services a ¼-acre parcel for both water and sewer.
Here are a few examples of the homes available in Pahrump, all priced in USD:
- Pampa is priced at $189,500, sitting ½-acre near our winery, great location for commuters to get to Las Vegas. It's 1,994 square feet with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths.
- Cortina is a former model home, sitting on ½-acre but is 4,800 square feet, with a casita and three-car garage. It is priced at $441,000.
- Chasemoor is sitting on a ¼-acre parcel and is priced at $175,000 with 1,779 square feet in Artesia, a planned community.
In 2014, homes were purchased in Pahrump ranging from cozy $80,000 houses up to $700,000 dream homes and everything in-between. Whatever kind of home you are looking for, you’ll find it here.
But Pahrump is more than just a destination for affordable real estate. It is a thriving community full of culture, comfort, and adventure. Which means spending less money, and spending more time enjoying life.
Speaking of enjoying life, Pahrump has some of the most exciting and unique attractions in southern Nevada. For instance, Pahrump boasts not one but two wineries, both featuring award-winning and world-class wines. Vineyards and desert might seem contradictory, but it makes for some of the tastiest wine you’ll ever try. And try it you will … each winery offers free tastings of their varied offerings. Sip your wine and dine on sumptuous cuisine at the fine dining restaurant Symphony’s at Pahrump Valley Winery or take in a show at Sanders Family Winery, while enjoying the landscape of vineyards and mountains, and you’ll have to remind yourself you’re not lounging in Napa Valley.
Don’t forget to bring your clubs, either. Pahrump features two golf courses with lush fairways, fast greens, and year-round play. Both courses are challenging enough for veteran players, and accessible enough for new golfers still perfecting their swing.
For thrill seekers, there are plenty of adrenaline-pumping experiences in Pahrump. Have you ever wanted to fly like a superhero? Soar above and below the water in a water-powered jetpack at Jetpack America. Feel the need for speed? Feed it at Spring Mountain Motor Resort & Country Club, home to the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School and the second largest racetrack in the world. And for firearm enthusiasts, we have one of the finest firearms training locations in the world at Front Sight Firearms Training Institute.
For lovers of the outdoors, Pahrump will be your new heartthrob. Pahrump is known as an RVer’s paradise, with several RV resorts carrying perfect ratings from Good Sam. The surrounding natural landscape is some of the most beautiful scenery southern Nevada has to offer, perfect for hiking, off-roading, and exploring. And since Pahrump is halfway between Las Vegas and Death Valley, this is the perfect basecamp for adventure. Whether it’s a trip to the glitz and glamour of Vegas, or a day trip to one of the countless tourist destinations California has to offer, Pahrump is perfectly situated as the place to start your adventure. And even better, the perfect place to come home to, to plan your next one.
While Pahrump may be more laid-back than the chaos of Vegas, it’s no sleepy hamlet. Every month there are several events that bring people from kilometres around, including a Fall Festival, a Grape Stomp Festival, a Film Festival, car shows, art exhibits, and more. And while they’re just a short drive from the neon and nightlife of Vegas, you won’t have to hit the road to scratch that gaming itch. There are casinos right here in town with all of the games you love to play.
Pahrump is 100 kilometres west of Las Vegas, and 180 degrees different.
