Leisure Travel Vans’ Wonder and Unity
The upgrades on Leisure Travel Vans’ 2022 Class B-plus lines start from the bottom up with an updated Ford Transit chassis. A proven platform across the class B segment, this chassis for the Unity and Wonder now has Adaptive Cruise Control, Remote Start, plus a number of driver-assist functions to complement the driveability of the twin-turbocharged 3.5 L EcoBoost V6 engine.
Functional, comfortable living on the road was a big focus for 2022. There are now two additional seat belts in the Wonder’s Rear Twin Bed and Rear Lounge floor plans to accommodate an inflatable bed option for more sleeping space. They have also been added to the Island Bed, Twin Bed, and Rear Lounge Unity models.

However, it’s the Unity that received some extra attention to its interior for 2022. Cabinetry designs have been expanded from two to four choices on five of the six floor plans. These include new Natural Rift and Cashmere selections, in addition to the existing Vancouver Maple and Espresso Brown (the Unity RL only offers the latter two options). There are also two new features on the Unity FX. There’s a redesigned, simplified bathroom door and rear sofa that now comes standard in Ultraleather.
Rounding out the upgrades is improved access to the freshwater drains, larger 12-inch fans in the lavatories, and low-profile 200W or 400W rigid solar panel options.

RoadTrek Zion Slumber
Engineered and designed for young families and seasoned RVers, the Slumber runs on a Ram ProMaster 3500 extended van chassis and shares the streamlined profile and European styling of the popular Zion. However, what makes it unique is the ‘Slumber’ pop-top area that expands its overnight capacity to five (with the optional folding mattress). ‘Pop-tops’ are popular on Class B models, and the one of the Slumber sleeps two and features three zippered windows, a skylight and handy storage tray with USB ports.
Inside, the ProMaster’s ‘extended van’ chassis allows ample space to accommodate the Twin Bed or King Bed floorplan that are thoughtfully designed around a permanent bathroom forward in the coach. A few other highlights is its 2 m (6.2 ft) of headroom, storage throughout and a well-equipped galley featuring a 5.0 cu. ft. refrigerator, propane stove, microwave as well as an extended flip-up counter, providing added galley space and serves as a designated charging station for electronics.
The Slumber is also well-appointed on the exterior. It comes standard with a handy outdoor shower, convenient power steps and awning, and is solar-ready to accommodate portable power upgrades.

Pleasure-Way Industries’ Plateau TS
Some appealing aspects right off the top of this Plateau is its Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500 chassis and spacious, functional interior that combine to provide relaxed safe drives to destinations and the opportunity to unwind once at an RV Park.
For example, its bumper-to-bumper length of 7 m (22.9 ft), wheelbase of 170,” and 3.0 L V6 BlueTec diesel engine means it’s compact enough to easily drive around town or manage highway traffic, while it’s large enough to offer an expansive interior space.

Pleasure-Way Industries
Portable power for the Plateau TS can be sourced from the optional solar package.
There’s a functional galley with plenty of storage, a full-size hanging wardrobe, and rear electric sofa that spans the width of the interior and converts to a 178 x 193 cm (70 x 76) queen-size bed. The wet bath is also impressive for a B van with its vanity, under-sink storage, china bowl toilet, and water-tight laminate.
Although it has a long list of standards, what makes the Plateau shine is its fit and finish. Four cabinetry choices are available including Blonde, Mocca, Matte White, and White Chocolate with two upholstery options, Almond and Graphite. With two other countertop options, the interior will not only meet personal preferences but provide a bright, clean space regardless of the choice.
Some options worth considering include 100 W, 200 W or 300 W solar packages, rear/side roll-up screen packages, and a set (4)of aluminum wheels to add some more bling to its sleek profile.

Winnebago Roam
The big news from Winnebago is the launch of its new Roam Class B, which the company touts as an Accessible Enhanced (AE) RV with a number of accessible features within its floor plan. This is the first class B designed specifically for wheelchair accessibility from the company and follows the launch of the Inspire and Adventurer AE Class A’s, providing an alternate, compact option for those with limited mobility.
Robert Kim, Director of the Specialty Vehicle Division says “the Roam, with its smaller size, will help many more people with accessibility needs experience the flexibility and fun of an RV. We designed the Roam to support many uses including camping, road trips and even as a daily driver.”

The Roam Class B, an Accessible Enhanced (AE) unit specifically designed for wheelchair accessibility - inside and out.
Backing this claim is the ample floor space to accommodate a wheelchair as well as the under-the-vehicle wheelchair lift, wheelchair tie-downs, wheelchair-accessible wet bath, and quick-access controls for the lights and coach systems. It also has a powered sofa bed. With a length of a little less than 6 m (20 ft), the Roam can fit in most public parking spaces, seat five people, and sleep four with the optional pop-top.
Other Class B’s for 2022 in what Winnebago refers to as its camper vans line include the Era, Revel, Solis, Solis Pocket and Travato, offering a well-rounded selection to meet an array of lifestyles on the road.

Airstream Interstate 24X Touring Coach
Following the launch of its Pottery Barn Special Edition Travel Trailer, Airstream announced its latest Class B, which follows a current trend of providing more off-grid capabilities with style and the utmost capabilities for outdoor enthusiasts.
Getting away from it all is the destination of choice for many RVers, and with the new Interstate 24X Touring Coach’s 4×4 drivetrain, air-ride suspension, and six LT215/85R16 A/T tires it has the capabilities to do just that. Power off-grid is available on-demand with its Advanced Power System that has two 100 Ah Deep Cycle Lithium Battle Born Batteries (LiFePO4), a 30-amp energy management system, 2000 W power inverter, and 300W of flexible solar panels for the house batteries. An additional 100 W solar panel for the battery and solar controller is also included.
Venturing off the beaten path takes a toll on any vehicle, so the 24 X has a protective body coating on the front/rear bumpers, along each side, and on the wheels for some protection from pinstriping and/or other body damage from rough terrain. A 107 cm (42 in) LED light bar and two side/rear LEDs are also added for more visibility at night.
Of course, the interior is just as functional but make no mistake about it, this Interstate is part utilitarian to better manage rugged environments and haul all the associated gear. The company’s Aluminum Aircraft L-track Storage System adorns the walls, ceiling, and floor to provide a secure, storage solution; a modular table system with four mounting points; plush swivel captain’s chairs forward; and large convertible seating/sleeping area that can accommodate six during travel and two when night falls.
A wet bath, customized lighting, and galley with a deep sink/cover, two-burner cooktop, and microwave are also included.
