Voyager RV Centre out of Lake Country, BC, Canada - has made it into the Top 50 RV Dealers in North America by RVBusiness Magazine. They also received a prestigious Top 5 Overall Blue Ribbon.
RV manufacturers nominate dealers across the United States and Canada that they feel are outstanding in their field. Nominated RV dealers are then judged by an independent panel of industry experts on their practices pertaining to consumers, staff, marketing, charitable endeavours and overall business procedure.
"The 12 judges involved in reviewing the applications again this year engaged in lively discussions through two days of heated debate; I don't know that I've ever seen that much interaction throughout the whole process. It was a horse race to the very last," said Dealer Coordinator Barb Riley. "And the judges clearly had difficulty getting the list down to just 50. So the dealers like Voyager RV, who made the grade even further to receive Blue Ribbon Top 5 in North America's designation among this already-stellar class, should be particularly proud."
RV Business Top 50 Selection Committee was impressed with Voyager's overall innovative day-to-day business approach, and highlighted the following with regards to encouraging diversity: "Voyager RV helps cultivate the local job pool through an RV technician Program with close ties with all area educational programs. They also support Okanagan Colleges' "Women in Trades Program" and currently employ six female RV technicians, three of them with Red Seal Journeyman status!"
The honourees of the annual RVB Top 50 Awards were publicly recognized on stage on Nov. 9 at an all-industry reception held during the Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association International Convention/Expo at Caesars Palace Las Vegas Hotel & Casino.
"I love what I do and feel like the luckiest guy in the world to get to come into work here everyday," explains Voyager RV Vice President Jason Friesen. "So being recognized with awards like this is just a bonus. My Dad (Rod Friesen) had the amazing vision to start Voyager back in 1984, and then built it up for 20 years into a true industry leader. That was really the hard work, and he deserves all the credit for setting the tone for the company's culture and values. Since taking on the leadership role in 2003, my role has really been to just build on that early success and reputation. I'm so fortunate to lead the amazing group of staff we have here, and being named one of the Blue Ribbon Top 5 Dealerships in North America is a true testament to the work they do for our customers. They deserve it."
