Manning Park Resort
The completed construction of two new staff housing complexes, Owl and Raven buildings, will increase capacity while also providing a variety of accommodations for the staff at the resort.
The two buildings have 12 individual units. The 24 units are single bedroom apartments including their own washroom, kitchen, and living room. They come fully furnished and are provided to staff rent free. They represent an investment of over $2.5 million dollars and an ongoing commitment on the part of the Resort to provide quality, affordable, employee housing. Manning Park Resort provides free housing to 100% of the staff who require it.
Located adjacent to the new buildings is a new employee community center that will act as a place for employee social gatherings. While currently under construction, this facility is expected to open this summer.
These new buildings are phase 2 of a multi-phase plan, which will continually improve and upgrade facilities and infrastructure in Manning Park Resort.
Vern Schram, the Resort's General Manager, was excited to show off the new facilities. These buildings follow the initial construction of five 3-bedroom units in 2019-2020 winter season along with a variety of renovations and remodeling to many of our existing staff housing units throughout 2020 and 2021. Schram states "In an effort to ensure proper attention is paid to our staff housing, we have also created a position for a dedicated Staff Housing Manager that oversees the management and ongoing maintenance and repairs of all staff housing units. This has proven to be an excellent way to pay attention to the needs as they arise."
