TACOMA V-6 RECEIVES BEST NEW INNOVATION TECHNOLOGY AWARD
Toyota Canada received the 2016 Best New Innovation Technology award from the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC) for the advanced technologies found on the Atkinson Cycle D-4S V-6 engine in the all-new, 2016 Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck.
AJAC selected the Tacoma engine for its introduction of the D-4S direct and port injection system to an Atkinson Cycle V-6 to maximize combustion efficiency, thereby boosting fuel efficiency and helping to reduce emissions.
The 3.5L V-6 in the 2016 Toyota Tacoma is Toyota’s first V-6 engine offered in Canada to combine D-4S injection with the Atkinson Cycle. It produces a peak 278 hp – a 14 percent boost compared to the previous generation V-6, while reduces fuel consumption by 15 percent.

WRANGLER PICKUP ON ITS WAY
There has been a lot of rumour and innuendo surrounding the next generation Jeep Wrangler. Lets not beat around the bush, the next Wrangler has a lot to live up to for Jeep enthusiasts, while a lot of government regulators want to see it become a Prius. But fettling with a proven recipe could prove disastrous for the off-road faithful that fuel Wrangler sales. So far, we’ve had nothing but good news as the next generation Wrangler is said to continue to be built on a body on frame architecture and will utilize a solid front axle. That's good for us off-roaders, however the burning question of whether or not we will get a pickup version looks to have finally been answered. Talking with the Detroit News, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles CEO Sergio Marchionne confirmed that there would indeed be a pickup version of the next generation Wrangler due out in 2017, likely to be launched in 2018 just after the main release of the regular and unlimited Wrangler.
