Check out Flex-A-Lite’s new line of transmission and engine-oil coolers. The new coolers feature all-aluminum construction for minimum weight and maximum strength, and are optimized for typical oil viscosities to provide excellent efficiency: better cooling without significantly decreasing oil pressure.
Transmission Coolers
The transmission coolers provide cooling for the toughest environments, including towing, and are also great for daily-driven cars, trucks and Jeeps. The proprietary dimpled pattern keeps the fluid mixed as it flows through the cooler, providing better heat transfer and cooling. Without this, a cool outer layer of fluid would form near the tube wall and hot fluid would pass through the middle without receiving significant cooling.
They provide nearly double the heat transfer compared to typical low-cost coolers. The dimples also make the plates much stronger and give the transmission cooler a 500-psi rated burst strength. The all-aluminum construction makes them lightweight, yet strong and durable. They are also ideal for use as power-steering coolers.
Engine-Oil Coolers
These coolers provide up to four times the heat rejection compared to typical low-cost coolers. The coolers use internal turbulator fins built into the cooling plates to keep the fluid mixed as it flows through the cooler, providing better heat transfer and cooling. Without this, a cooler outer layer of fluid would form near the tube wall and hot fluid would pass through the middle without receiving significant cooling. The Turbulizer also make the plates much stronger and gives the Engine-Oil Cooler a 500-psi rated burst strength. A thick, 1 ¾-inch core minimizes oil-pressure drop through the cooler while maximizing heat transfer.
Engine-oil coolers come with interchangeable -8, -10 and -12 AN fittings with O-rings.
