Wrangler Supercharger System
Our fixation with having enough power and torque to turn our bigger tires brought us to a dead stop as we ogled the specs and images of the new RIPP Supercharger for the Wrangler JL. According to RIPP, the stock 3.6L Pentastar cranks out 215 horsepower at the rear wheel (WHP), but if you run larger tires the power is lower. Installing a RIPP Supercharger resulted in 376 WHP and 350 ft lb of torque on 37”tires – more than a 5.7L or 6.4L V8 Hemi swap – and for a lot less time and money.

We like that the kit comes complete with a new PCM and Diablo Sport Tuner (with a RIPP tune) and that the supercharger is fully assembled for a bolt-on installation (rated at eight to ten hours – if you know what you’re doing). It does not work with eTorque systems.
The Supercharger kits are also available for ’15 - ’18 Wrangler JK’s, which is very tempting. If only our pockets were deeper, a lot deeper.
