Wrangler JK/JKU owners are the still the envy of new JL/JLU owners simply because of the vast number of accessories available from every manufacturer at every price point. Rugged Ridge narrowed the gap at SEMA 2018 with a number of key accessories for the new 2018 JL/JLU. Here are our favourites.
The Tube Steps are built from high-strength steel tubing, and finished with a textured black powder coat to provide years of corrosion resistance. Given the body and suspension lifts that are often installed lifts these steps make getting in and out easier, and add some style and personalization to your Jeep. Get them for four- door models, in both 3-inch round and 4-inch oval diameters.
Not many vehicles allow you to easily remove the doors the way a Wrangler does, unfortunately this also removes the mirrors. The new Trail Mirror allows you to mount side mirrors, keeping them street legal (assuming you are allowed to drive without doors). Choose from either a traditional rectangular design or go retro with round mirror instead. Both use the windshield hinge pin as a mounting point, so you don’t need extra brackets and you can still fold down your windshield.
Going topless is another big benefit for Wrangler owners; unless you get sunburnt and die of skin cancer… before you run down to the oncologist, get protection from the sun’s rays with an Eclipse Sunshade. It’s easy to install and you can leave it on using either hard or soft tops. Not only does it cut down on the heat, it also reduces wind turbulence.
