Insane Audio JK 2001 In-Dash Infotainment
We’ve always felt shackled by the stock infotainment system in our 2015 Wrangler Sahara JK Unlimited. A vehicle that is so exceptional off-road should have an equally exceptional set of electronic features. The JK2001 from Insane Audio is much more than an improved audio/video unit.
The Bluetooth OBDII adapter and Torque app will let you view real time engine data and view and clear engine diagnostic codes. It is backup camera ready so you can see what’s behind you when you switch into reverse and you can connect a forward facing camera to effectively see through your hood.
Their own NavEngine navigation software provides 3D maps and topography with the latest street and trail maps in both the USA and Canada. The operating system is Android 6.1, which means you can download and use ANY android app - whether it’s Netflix, traffic software, or Google Earth.
The unit comes with 32Gb of storage built-in, and will accept microSD cards with up to 256 Gb of storage. Connect to your phone to draw from your existing data plan, stream audio and video, take calls - it’s all there behind a high resolution touch screen in an IP66 rated housing.
A demo unit is on the way to 4WDrive so look for a complete hands-on review in a future issue.
