I’ve heard people say, “I never thought Alien Sunshades made much sense. If you don't want sun on you, leave your roof on." Well that thought changed for a friend while we were out wheeling and he was badly sun burnt driving topless. He noticed that I was not and realized my Alien Sunshade had prevented it. Alien Sunshades are made of mesh in the USA and are able to reduce sunlight reaching your interior when the top is off. They provide incredible protection against harmful UV rays, help to keep things cooler and reduce wind noise.
As stated above they are made of a thick mesh material and are attached to the roll bars with short bungee cords. They can come in various colours or be black with designs on them. They have metal grommets for the bungees to go in and wrap around the roll bars to be held in place. You can even leave the sunshade installed when you put your soft or hard top back on. You do need a bit of arm strength to stretch the elastics but otherwise they are very easy to install. The Alien Sunshades come packed in small boxes with simple instructions and even a green alien figure.
There are shades for Renegades as well as 2-door and 4-door Wranglers, mesh cages for cargo area of JKU’s, accessories and more.
My sunshade has more than met my expectations. It has kept my interior cooler, prevented me from getting sunburnt and while it will not keep the rain out, it does slow down the amount coming in.
