Georgia Strait Alliance on display at the Boat Show
Georgia Strait Alliance
Happy New Year! With the holidays behind us, boaters cannot help but turn our thoughts to boating season, and we have a couple of announcements to satisfy your urge.
The Vancouver International Boat Show is almost here!
We are once again kicking off the year at the BC Place location of the Vancouver International Boat Show. Stop by our booth to catch up on the latest developments in recreational boating issues such as derelict vessels and proposed new killer whale viewing regulations.
Find out about or latest Clean Marine BC eco-certified boating facilities, and grab your copy of our handy Guide to Green Boating - full of tips for protecting our cruising waters and endangered Southern Resident Killer Whales.
We are also presenting on Sharing the Strait with the Killer Whales in the seminar series on Wednesday January 17th at 12:30.
We could use your help!
If you’d like to be more involved with the Vancouver International Boat Show, we could use your help. We are seeking volunteers to help out at our booth. All that is required is a few hours of your time and a passion for green boating. We’ll send out a bit of information to our volunteers to brush up on green boating tips before the show. Click here to sign up.
Abandoned and Derelict Vessels Inventory
Do you boat or beach walk in the Islands Trust region and come across vessels of concern? The Islands Trust is taking an inventory of abandoned and derelict vessels in their region (from Denman across to Gambier and down to Southern Gulf Islands, excluding Texada). You can aid in having these vessels tracked and cleaned up by reporting them. Click here to learn more.
