18th Annual Lac la Hache Father’s Day Fishing Derby
Sat. & Sun., June 17 & 18, 2018 at Kokanee Bay Resort, 3728 Hwy 97
This is a large annual fishing derby that attracts around 300 fishermen/women from around the province. Lac la Hache is not a stocked lake, but is home to many types of fish including char (lake trout), rainbow trout, kokanee, freshwater ling cod, and white fish.
Entry fee:
- Adult $15
- Kids 12 & under $5
Register at the following locations:
- Donex Department Store, 100 Mile House
- Hungry Bear Diner, Lac la Hache
- Lac la Hache Food Mart
- Chilcotin Guns, Williams Lake
- Kokanee Bay Resort
Fishing Times:
- Saturday - 8am - 9pm
- Sunday - 8am-noon
- Final weigh-in Sunday 12:01pm
- Awards start at 1pm
No fishing licence is needed for residents of BC (non-resident visitors do need licenses). All provincial fishing regulations do apply.

- 2nd Largest fish $300
- Largest rainbow $100
- Largest white fish $100
- Hidden weight & Time prizes
- Lots of other prizes & draw prizes
- Must be in attendance to win
Sunday activities:
- Silent auction (items on display starting Saturday)
- Free giveaways for kids
- Hamburger & hot dog concession from 11am-1pm
Spectators are open to the many valuable door prizes, along with participants, as every ticket is entered into the derby draws.You have to be there to pick up the prizes, which helps encourage folks to stay for the family fun, rather than just the fishing.
