Last year, more than 300 tickets were sold for this family fun fishing derby, with ages from the very young to the well-seasoned fishers, all competing for various prizes.
Hosted by Kokanee Bay Resort, the derby is conducted by, and the proceeds go to, the Lac la Hache Father’s Day Fishing Derby Society. It’s a not-for-profit society that distributes the funds back to community organizations.
On Sunday, there are activities planned for all ages, including a silent auction, freebees for children, and hamburger & hot dog concession from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.
Tickets are available at Kokanee Bay Resort, the Lac la Hache Food Mart/Race Trac Gas & the Hungry Bear Cafe. They are also available at Donex in 100 Mile House, and Chilcotin Guns in Williams Lake.
For more information, contact Rose Stenberg at 250-396-7345 or Hetty Wright at 250-396-4253.
This is the only weekend a fishing license is not required for any BC resident to fish at most of the lakes in the province.
