Allowing towables in FMCA

I'm not in favor of allowing towable into FMCA. The club was based on motorcoaches, the association is even named Family Motor Coach Association. I understand the numbers and age deal. I feel the the association needs to get a better message out, to pull not only new members, but younger people in to the organization. There are people I know that don't know who the FMCA is or know of the benefits this association has to offer. They see the FMCA plates on motorcoachs but they thinks it's some old club of older people. As the economy gets better, more motorcoaches will hit the road. There has to be an appeal to the younger set. I don't want to see the name changed to Family Motor Coach & Towables Association.

Allowing towables

Wouldn't allowing towables just make us Good Sam? Keep in mind that younger people are still working. They can't attend conventions, or whatever you want to call a gathering, except from Friday night to Sunday morning. Their range of travel is limited too. When we were in our 30s we joined Good Sam. We looked at all the rallies and conventions and said that it looked like they were for really old people. We were never able to attend due to working. Now WE are the really old people who are attending these functions. Keep in mind that when you bring in younger people, they have kids who need to be entertained/occupied too. I value younger blood and welcome them and their newer ideas. However, before you make fundamental changes, you need to define your target market better. Younger families need different amenities, accommodations and time schedules. We must remember how we camped or vacationed when we were the working with children.
