Ryan Hagy and Casey Currie Capture Two Podium's Each for Team GT at Speedworld

Fort Mill, SC - May 22, 2012. With temperatures pushing triple-digits, the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) descended upon Surprise, Arizona and Speedworld Park for rounds five and six this past weekend. Team GT member Ryan Hagy posted back-to-back podiums finishing second and third in his No. 5 Valli Construction/Rockstar truck while Dawson Kirchner also posted a podium in Super Lite. Sporting a special G.I. Joe: Retaliation paint scheme, Carl Renezeder ran up front and posted one podium on the weekend while Casey Currie put his No. 2 Monster Energy/General Tire Nissan on the podium twice in Pro Lite Unlimited.

During round five action on Saturday, Hagy came from fourth to second to post his first podium of the weekend in Super Lite competition. Kirchner followed Hagy in a close third in the No. 18 General Tire/Method Racing Wheels truck. Hagy was hot on the heels of the leader during Sunday's showdown but some close competition and a few cautions forced Hagy to settle for third giving him back-to-back podiums on the weekend.

"The competition was tough as a few of the top driver's raced in multiple classes giving them more track time," said Hagy following this weekend's event. As for his championship hopes, Hagy said, "Well the first few rounds were tough for me as I had major mechanical issues which left me with bad finishes but after this weekend its put me back in the top three for points. So if I can continue to be consistent than I feel that I am a contender."

And his Grabbers, well, let's just say they helped him "grab" two podiums to which Hagy said, "The General tires are always awesome! Not one flat!"

In Pro Lite Unlimited, Currie was challenged by the largest field of the day, 23 trucks. Currie held steady in fourth for a majority of the race but a late-race maneuver in turns one and two placed him third when the checkered flag flew. In Sunday's race, Currie marched his way through the field on a mission but ran out of laps before catching the leader. Currie finished second, his second podium of the weekend.
